On 28 May 2025, in Valletta – the capital of Malta, within the framework of the 4th European Convention on Youth Work under the auspices of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Agency of the Republic of Macedonia and the National Agency of the Republic of Malta.

With this document, Macedonia secures a partnership towards the direct use of the largest grants from European funds through the KA3 programme – which provides support for projects of strategic importance, large scale and long-term impact, especially capital investments in the fields of education, science, youth and sport.

The Director of the National Agency, Dr. Petar Bogojeski, led the Macedonian delegation and personally negotiated and signed this strategic partnership with his colleague from Malta, Mr. Rafael Skerry, and opened new perspectives for our educational institutions, organisations and companies, which have not had access to this type of grants and investments so far.

"With this step, Macedonia enters a higher league of European partnership. We are enabling access to funds that mean real development, concrete results and new opportunities for young people, teachers, researchers and innovators." - said
Dr. Bogojeski.

The partnership with Malta, as a friendly and successful member state of the European Union, is an example of smart diplomacy and efficient use of European solidarity and funds. Srđan Karanfilovski, MA, Coordinator for International Cooperation at NAEOPM, and representatives of the civil sector, part of the Macedonian delegation, also strongly acted in that direction.

Macedonia today is taking a significant step forward - towards European knowledge, towards competitive education and towards a European future.

Macedonia and Malta - together towards European success!
